YooniK announced on Tuesday a partnership with Host Hotel Systems, a company that provides technology for hotels, to provide a new online and face-to-face check-in experience at hotels. Through this partnership, Host Hotel Systems will now offer its hotel clients the option of implementing facial authentication for guest check-in.
This new feature will allow guests to use their face and an ID document (passport or citizen's card) as a form of identification, simplifying the check-in process and providing an extra layer of security, explains Host Hotel Systems in a press release.
“We are very excited about this partnership to create an innovative check-in experience for hotels and their guests,” says Pedro Torres, CEO and co-founder of YooniK. ”This feature will allow guests to enjoy a better experience, saving time while checking in with confidence and convenience. On the other hand, for hotel owners, a better guest experience means better reviews and higher revenue per room.”
“Digitalization is a priority in Host Hotel Systems' mission and partnering with YooniK for check-in automation brings us closer to our vision of a more convenient guest experience with less bureaucracy,” explains João Freitas, Director of Growth & Partnerships at Host Hotel Systems. “Revolutionary technologies, such as automated check-in, are key to allowing hotel staff to focus on guests instead of worrying about processes, and also to enable hotel owners to reduce structural costs with operations and hardware.
“According to the press release, face authentication functionality will be available as an additional feature in Host Hotel Systems' Property Management System. “Hotels that already use Host and are interested in this feature can contact Host Hotel Systems directly to activate it.
