Host Hotel Systems organized Host Level-Up Lisbon this Tuesday, May 23rd, at the Olissippo Lapa Palace.

Host Level-Up, a line of exclusive events promoted by Host, has as its central motto the empowerment of the hotel industry by providing answers to the most challenging questions in the world of hospitality through panel debates and presentations of success stories by experienced professionals from the sector, so that hotels can stand out in this highly competitive industry.

In this first edition in Lisbon, Host Level-Up Lisboa offered two panel debates that brought together experienced professionals (Francisco Moser, Nuno António, Ricardo Vieira, João Pronto, Pedro Moita and Rui Alves) to share their knowledge with the guests. However, this event stood out for addressing two facets of the data issue in hospitality.

The guests were able to get answers on how to transform the data collected at the hotel into strategic and valuable information for optimizing hotel management. In other words, the introduction of technology needs to be rethought in order to achieve optimized hotel management, not just based on PMS data, but also on other sources such as Channel Manager, social networks, etc. By making strategic decisions based on facts, such as consumption patterns, the entire management of the operation is made more efficient and staff can be more available to dedicate themselves to providing excellent guest service.

On the other hand, best practices for guaranteeing data security and protection against cybercrime were also discussed. The concept of a human firewall was emphasized, along with the importance of adopting less risky processes for hotel operations. The implementation of technologies is an asset when combined with human care with the authentication methods of the platforms used. Lastly, the issue of interoperability was addressed, the ability of a system to communicate in an integrated way with another system, as is the case with PMS, POS and CRM, for example, and the risks it can bring to the cybersecurity of hotel data.

The event was also marked by a cocktail hour, where attendees could enjoy an environment conducive to networking and exchanging ideas between professionals in the hotel sector.
